A world-renowned artist and inspirational thinker, Akiyama has received numerous awards for her paintings. During her training she studied Japanese brush painting (Sumi-e) and was awarded the prestigious Master’s Seal for outstanding work. Her intricate brushwork combined with her distinctive vocabulary of signs and symbols make up a unique artistic language which renders Akiyama’s work instantly recognisable.
