Where nature, magic and modernity converge.
Born in 1982 in the south of the Netherlands, Albers studied graphic design in Eindhoven before establishing a successful creative career working for musicians, festivals and major brands. His early fascination with album covers, film posters and the emotional power of visual imagery continues to shape his art today. Strong compositions, dramatic contrasts and translucent colours give his work an immediate impact, while closer inspection reveals the richness of the texture and the exquisite detail, along with a subtle sense of intrigue.
At the heart of Albers’ practice is a profound connection to nature. Working from a garden studio in Berlicum, he photographs flowers, stems, roots and branches, often gathered from his immediate surroundings, and uses them as the foundation for his compositions. Each artwork is then individually finished by hand using textured gels, sand, oil sticks, spray paint, charcoal, acrylic, varnish, metallic pigments and diamond dust. Techniques such as crackled “aging layers” create a sense of history and depth, giving each piece a unique surface and a luminous, tactile presence.
Albers describes his work as “organic, colourful and sensitive.” Nature provides a powerful counterpoint to the distractions of the digital world, and his art serves as a means of keeping fading memories tangible and alive. Inspired by the cycles of growth and decay, he seeks to capture not only the exuberance of flowers in bloom, but also their fragility and transience. The emotional depth in his compositions comes from the suggestion that beauty is most powerful when it acknowledges its own impermanence.
Exhibited internationally at events and venues including the Affordable Art Fair, Maison & Objet and the Flower Art Museum, Albers has built a devoted global following, with collectors across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. His works offer a compelling dialogue between nature and modern life, inviting us into a world that is both magical and transformative.
