Sir Peter Blake
Sir Peter Blake, often referred to as the 'Godfather of British Pop Art,' has left an indelible mark on the art world. He is renowned for his creative contributions, including the iconic album cover design for the Beatles' masterpiece, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Blake's artistic talents extended beyond music, as he also designed album covers for The Who and contributed to significant projects such as the Band Aid single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" and the Live Aid concert poster.
In recognition of his artistic achievements, Sir Peter Blake was elected as a Member of the Royal Academy of Arts in 1981. Notably, his retrospective exhibition held at the Tate Gallery in London in 1983 was celebrated as one of the most successful showcases ever for a living artist.
