Rock and Roll – Guitar is a striking original sculpture by Yuvi, measuring 13" x 39", that transforms an iconic instrument into a vivid celebration of music, rebellion and cultural memory. The guitar’s surface is alive with colour and layered imagery, combining portraits, graphic motifs and expressive splashes of paint that echo the raw energy of rock and roll itself. Familiar references emerge and dissolve within drips, textures and collage, creating a sense of rhythm and movement that mirrors the pulse of live music.
The work feels both nostalgic and contemporary, paying homage to musical legends while remaining rooted in the visual language of the street. Bright pinks, blues and yellows clash and harmonise against darker tones, drawing the eye across the instrument’s form and inviting closer inspection. Every inch of the guitar is animated, turning a symbol of sound into a powerful visual statement.
Yuvi’s artistic voice is shaped by a childhood immersed in graffiti, music, politics and social commentary, influences that continue to drive his expressive and positive approach. His work is defined by a love of colour and an instinctive need to communicate, using humour and defiance to explore themes of identity, culture and optimism. Inspired by figures such as Andy Warhol and Banksy, Yuvi blends traditional techniques with digital processes and mixed media. Often working with his bare hands, he builds intensely tactile surfaces that reflect his passion and physical connection to the act of making.
