Sculpture showcase

22nd October, 2024, I 3-5 Minute read

If you’re looking for something a bit different for your art collection, perhaps it’s time to explore some more off the wall artworks...?

Clarendon is privileged to have an exemplary selection of talented sculptors in the portfolio who offer the broadest possible array of styles, genres and mediums to bring a new dimension to your living space...

Good with figures

Michael Talbot

The inspiration for Michael Talbot's meticulously crafted bronze sculpture is the human figure and what he calls its choreography of form, tension, and balance. Each piece begins with an original clay sculpture which Talbot then casts in bronze in the foundry, using the ancient, but timeless, lost wax method; this gives each work the authentic foundry bronze texture which lasts not only for a lifetime, but for generations to come. In this way, he retains complete control over every step of the process from conception to completion, refining and enhancing the final work with a unique, distinctive patina. Talbot's poetic, almost romantic, approach, combines with his traditional artisan skills to render each work individual, intricate and beautiful.

Other highlights from the Clarendon sculpture portfolio include beautiful and moving large-scale works from Michael Speller, breath-taking depictions of the relationship between humanity and nature from Italian artist Andrea Roggi, cleverly created pieces that perfectly capture the magic of movement from Jennine Parker and exquisite works featuring delicately crafted figures from Carl Payne

A walk on the wild side

Hamish Mackie

Our impressive line-up of wildlife sculpture artists includes Michael Simpson, Hamish Mackie, Fred Gordon and Christopher Schulz, all of whose expertly observed interpretations of the animal kingdom and meticulous attention to detail bring their incredible contemporary artworks to life in profound and meaningful ways.

Keeping it (sur)real

As the official partner of the Dali Universe, Clarendon is proud to be the trusted channel through which to purchase the sculpture of Surrealist master Salvador Dalí. Our strong 20th century portfolio also includes rare sketches and studies from such household names as Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore, which give a fascinating insight into their intellectual and creative processes when working on a sculptural masterpiece.

Media speak

Dan Pearce

Many of our leading contemporary artists specialise in more than one medium, producing sculptural works that complement their 2D offerings. Powerful bronze figures from Fabian Perez and Sherree Valentine-Daines, showstopping pieces celebrating the world of sailing from Duncan MacGregor, or street-inspired and mixed media sculptures from Mr Brainwash, Dan Pearce, Yuvi, Lothar, Debra Franses and even The Prodigy’s dynamic frontman, Maxim, all offer a new perspective on familiar subjects while on a lighter note, Doug Hyde or Rebecca Lardner’s whimsical works radiate playfulness, colour and joy.
