Fred Gordon
Award-winning British sculptor Fred Gordon is passionate about wildlife, conservation and the natural world.
Since winning the Diana Brooks Prize with Art for Youth in 2017, Gordon has been making his mark as a rising star in wildlife sculpture. Based in North London, he has travelled extensively to observe the behaviour of his subjects in their natural environment, whether that may be the British countryside, or further afield in Sri Lanka or South Africa where he enjoyed a three month artist residency in Limpopo. Out on location he studies anatomy at first hand, sketching, photographing and, where possible, creating small maquette studies. He takes this source material back to his studio to work up the pose and form in the final pieces.
