Jack Davis’s Serene Morning (59" x 59") is an exquisite meditation on light, space, and tranquillity. A vast expanse of sea stretches toward the horizon, where the shimmering blues of the water meet the soft, clouded sky in an almost imperceptible gradient. The painting captures the gentle interplay of light across the surface of the water, evoking a sense of boundless calm and endless possibility. The delicate variations in blue, from the crystalline transparency of the foreground to the deep, rich hues of the distant ocean, create an immersive and deeply soothing experience.
Rather than painting from photographs, Davis paints the dramatic skies and seas which surround his home in St. Just directly from his experience in the landscape. “When you’re out there”, he explains, “you don’t have time to overcomplicate things; it’s all about letting the subconscious come through”. The pulse and flux of the ever-changing weather and the luminosity of operatic light provide him with constant inspiration.
In 2016, Davis became a tutor at the Newlyn School of Art, joining an impressive roster of practising artists in Cornwall. In addition to being housed in both private and corporate collections, his work has been exhibited at the Members Autumn and Spring Exhibitions of the St. Ives Society of Artists and in galleries worldwide. He has won the Threadneedle Prize: Figurative Art Today and has been published in Future Now: 100 Contemporary Artists from the Aesthetica Art Prize.
Davis’s ability to capture atmosphere and mood through the simplest compositions is what sets him apart. His work invites contemplation, offering a moment of quiet reflection amidst the turbulence of the modern world.

Free 14 Day Returns
We always want you to be delighted with your artwork. If you have changed your mind and wish to return your online purchase from us, you have 14 days from the point of delivery to contact us to organise a return. We do not charge for online returns.
Upon placing an order, we will promptly follow up with an email confirmation of the delivery timeline and address any additional queries you may have about your purchase, payment, or delivery. During this conversation, we will also finalize the details of your preferred delivery method.
Should you need assistance with the installation of fixings or your artwork, our galleries can provide a roster of reliable installers who can lend their expertise. Kindly inform our team before the delivery if such assistance is necessary.
Please note that this service incurs a charge. If your artwork is not yet ready to be hung, we will ensure it remains wrapped and ready for you or your chosen installer to hang at a more convenient time.
The majority of our limited edition artworks and select original pieces are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. If a certificate is available for the artwork you have ordered, it will be included with your shipment.
Yes, we ship artwork to over 180 countries. Our reliable courier partners, primarily DHL, are entrusted with shipping your artwork worldwide. Occasionally, we may also utilize services from TNT or other similar providers.
