Artwork Description:

Size:15 x 15 in.

The Yellow Kite by John Waterhouse, measuring 7" x 7", is a charming and evocative painting that captures a fleeting moment of serenity and wonder. The expansive composition features a vast, sunlit field stretching towards a backdrop of trees, with a radiant blue sky adorned by soft, billowing clouds. A delicate yellow kite, tethered by an almost imperceptible thread, soars gracefully above, suggesting innocence and freedom. At the centre, a small figure adds a poignant sense of scale and human connection to this idyllic scene.

John Waterhouse, an award-winning British artist, is celebrated for his ability to translate memory and emotion into exquisite oil paintings. His work often explores the interplay of light and landscape, capturing the subtleties of natural illumination and its transformative effect on the world around us. Born in 1967, John honed his artistic talents while teaching art, an experience that deepened his belief in the transformative power of creativity.

Waterhouse meticulously prepares each painting, beginning with sketches and reflective studies before committing to canvas. His art resonates deeply, not only for its technical brilliance but also for its ability to evoke personal reflection and emotional engagement. Recognised as one of the UK's most collectable landscape artists, his work continues to inspire and uplift audiences worldwide.
