Kristjana Williams
Kristjana S Williams is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist whose fantastical worlds bridge the realms of history, nature, and imagination. Working across hand and laser-cut collage, 3D construction, illustration, animation and digital design, she has created an instantly recognisable visual language that layers Victorian engravings with vibrant botanicals, exotic animals and intricate cartography. These richly immersive works invite the viewer into what Williams calls ‘wishful forests’, spaces in which the boundaries between the natural and the mythical dissolve.
Described by The New York Times as part of the “new antiquarian movement,” she layers Victorian engravings with vibrant botanicals, exotic animals, and intricate cartography to create immersive “wishful forests” alive with wonder and imagination. Her collaborations range from heritage houses such as Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Penhaligon’s to some of the world's greatest institutions including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Vatican Library. She has designed album art for Coldplay, installations for The Shard, and has won major international awards from the Pentawards to the New York Festivals Grand Prix. Held in collections worldwide, her work is visionary, glamorous, and utterly distinctive.
