Artwork Description:
Size:65 x 53 in

Step into the vibrant and thought-provoking world of 'Which Came First', an original masterpiece by the acclaimed Toby Mulligan. Framed in a lymed whitewash floating border, this expansive piece measures 65 x 53 inches and embodies Mulligan's distinctive approach to contemporary figurative art.

At its heart, 'Which Came First' is a spellbinding exploration of form and colour. The canvas erupts with fiery shades of crimson, deep maroon, and soft rose, creating a backdrop that pulsates with life's dynamic forces. Against this tempestuous sea of reds stand striking contrasts – bold strokes of cobalt blue, sunny yellows, and subtle flashes of teal – lending depth and complexity to the composition.

Central to the artwork is a stylized human figure, depicted in an array of colours that capture the essence of movement and vitality. This figure seems to dance amidst abstract forms and shapes that suggest interconnectedness or perhaps even universal unity.

Toby Mulligan’s work is celebrated for its spirited spontaneity; each brushstroke on 'Which Came First' appears unfettered and intuitive. His innovative use of traditional pigments enriched with modern techniques adds layers of texture that invite closer inspection.

Perfect for collectors who appreciate art imbued with emotion and energy, 'Which Came First' offers not just visual impact but also intellectual stimulation. It challenges viewers to ponder existential questions against a backdrop rich in symbolism and beauty—a truly extraordinary addition to any space it graces.
