Introducing Nao McDowell

Nao is a young, London based artist who is an exciting addition to the Clarendon portfolio. When she embarked on her career as an artist, she would spend days at a time cycling around London capturing interesting planes and angles of the city’s architecture with her camera and sketchbook. As time passed she has become increasingly interested in the wonders of nature, fascinated by what seemed to be ordered colours and architectural lines which have occurred organically, without any human intervention. Her recent work reflects this passion for nature and features the landscape and coastline of southern Britain, whether seen through the shape of a headland, the silhouette of a copse of trees, or the huge shadows of clouds on a sparkling stretch of water. She has now drawn the attention of several London galleries and her luminous, semi-abstract pieces are becoming increasingly sought-after.
